In 2017, Dr. Michael Weatherly started a consulting company, C5BDI, to support tech scouting, agile acquisition, and tech transition efforts for the US Federal Government. C5BDI’s unique business model is one where it plays the role of intermediary between the government and small business technology companies leading its industry clients in Non-Traditional Contracting (NTC) support via agile acquisition methods and other innovative contract vehicles. Through the C5BDI journey the government continuously requested services from C5BDI, yet it has always maintained a position of intermediary to ensure small business and government best interests are met and that a bi-partisan focus could be maintained.
Seeing such a great need and continuous ask from the government to support these innovation efforts, Dr. Weatherly exited C5BDI to start and lead efforts at DXI. DXI is on a mission to ensure that the US government and taxpayers’ best interests are met, and that the US innovation advantage is preserved. We provide products and services that are actionable and create an immediate impact on government acquisition. We aren’t looking to be a talking forum for defense entrepreneurship. Instead, we are on a mission to provide solutions that the government can act on today to access the advanced product and service providers they so desperately need and desire.
The Vision
A federal acquisition landscape whereby any requirement (product or service) of the US Government has 3+ qualifying solution providers that are able to be under contract in 30 days or less of the Government’s initial request.
